ANTHONY SWAINE - AABC IHBC FRIBA FSA FCIOB

Private Practice Specialising in Conservation Architecture

Anthony Swaine, Architect in Canterbury, is the Principal of his Architects Practice which has been established in Canterbury for over sixty years. He is a Freeman of the City of Canterbury in recognition of the great contribution he has made to conserving the fabric of the City.

Anthony has attended many international conferences in Europe throughout his career and was consultant on repairs to historic buildings in France and Italy. He was patron of Venice in Peril and during this time assisted in the restoration of a Venetian Church, namely the Madonna del Orto. The Practice today remains as Architect to All Saints Church Lydd, a medieval Church known as 'Cathedral of the Marsh', being the longest church in Kent.

Today, the Practice employs four people namely Anthony, David Stere BA(Hons) Architecture who has been with the Practice for eleven years, Martin Baker who has been with the Practice three years and is currently studying BTEC in Building Construction and Building Services and Tracey Milliner who works part time as our Administrator.

The Practice prides itself on the quality of drawings it produces for planning designs, historic detailing and Building Regulations. In addition, we offer full Architect's Services where we will oversee the construction stage from beginning to end and administer the contract.

We undertake a variety of schemes for private clients, developers and local government and although we specialise in listed buildings, we also produce designs for more contemporary projects

We look forward to hearing from you!
